News - What does book matched marble mean?

Book matched is the process of mirroring two or more natural or artificial stone slabs to match the pattern, movement, and veining present in the material. When the slabs are laid end to end, the veining and movement continue from one slab to the next, resulting in a continuous flow or pattern.

Stones with a lot of mobility and veining are great for book matching. Many types of natural stone, such marble, quartzite, granite, and travertine, to mention a few, have the perfect movement and features for a book match. Stone slabs can even be quad-matched, which means that four slabs, rather than two, are matched in veining and movement to make an even more powerful statement.
